I HAVE NOT BEEN THIS EXCITED about a new shop here in town in a very long time. I just got back from peeking in @ Domestic Bliss's shop called Found and if I were you I would not miss coming down for opening night..that's TONIGHT. In my opinion Kristen & Dan Alber (the owners) knocked this one out of the park and I feel so lucky to live so close. While you're at it take the opportunity to peek in @ Decesare Design (I posted DD group here) group and ATJ's studio..you will die @ the talent and beauty that comes from all of these fine folks.

what I love about....
Good morning all..come check me out over on Kirsten's fabulous 6th Street Design blog (I love her blog). I had so much fun participating in her "what I love about" series. You may even see something that has to do with being in my bedroom. Don't be shy come on over and say hi, right here.
Speaking of bedroom..the above are snippets of scenes from my bedroom. I've had the same bedroom setup for almost 8 years and just as I am ready to invest in a rug and window treatments, I want to redo the whole thing. I guess the beauty of it all is that I did almost everything via the discount highway so I can easily justify that one. One of my all time favorite thrifting items exists as the piece of signed art in the top photo. That piece is done by a French artist. On Ebay all of the pieces range from about $700 to $7000. Not too bad since I only paid $5.00 and bought it because I loved the colors that are in it. Oh for the love of thrift.

green with warmth
As I sat there ironing this little girl's shirt with the large bow on it I thought that the timing to thinking she had a heart that is rather large for her small frame was rather apropos. I love that the large bow sits right over that warm spot in her chest. As she put on the freshly ironed shirt she said, "Thanks Mom, this nice warm shirt makes me feel so good". Funny thing was that we both were feeling warm & good at that very same time but in different ways.
From this day on I vow to look @ ironing in a whole different way...I may even like doing it a little more (at least for today).
P.S. - Is it weird to see pictures of interiors flash through one's head as they iron the above shirt because they matched?
Atlanta is where I'm goin {chic cottage home}
I love seeing pictures of the same house from different sources...did they make any changes from one photo shoot to the next? The below rooms were decorated by Jayme Armour Leffler who happens to be the shop owner of Armour & Co. located in Atlanta. Seriously I need to go to hotlanta STAT because I'm thinking chic home decor is big business over there. Anyway I loved this spread in Better Homes and Gardens and of course had to do the research on the this talented person who went to bat for this house and found the same home with photos published on ajc homefinder. By the way the below home is a rental...see it's ok to make a rental look good too.
First up are the photos from ajc homefinder:
Can you spy the differences?

{to be free like a butterfly}
Hi there...this week we are learning some new tricks as well as implementing some old ones which leaves us very busy.
Loving that my little man finds so much pleasure from getting dressed by himself. Also nothing better than a butterfly needlepoint.
We'll probably see blogger a little more next week.
xx - Christina
P.S. - I finally got the latest issue of House Beautiful in the mail yesterday. LOVED IT! Go to 6th Street Design School's blog for a great recap.

The Willows
You may just want to hop on over to check out this great giveaway. Also, who doesn't love a good remodel of a kitchen..that is just what The Willow's owner is doing in her own personal home as we speak. I especially love the lighting that she is using. Go check it out here.

{earth day}
Just wanted to show a small sampling of one of my contributions to Earth Day. I think it is perfectly acceptable to consider a 40 to 50 year old piece of lucite as an appropriate offering to my love of this planet. Of course it is being green because I am reusing.
Isn't that chair so pretty....I also bought a neat lucite bench so that the chair wouldn't be lonely.
Here's to Earth Day!
It's been one of those days...
Almost nothing 69 degrees, Paradise Bakery chippers and a Pelligrino couldn't fix. I thought it was funny that the lady @ AJ's brown bagged my carbonated water. Perhaps she thought I could use a drink if you know what I mean. She was very nice though and kept saying like five times in a row, "Do you need ANY help?"
I really do love being a Mom but there is something going on with my nervous system today. It felt like a short circuit was about to happen.....breakers..breakers. Not to blame it on the kids or anything:-)
P.S. - Remember in Mary Poppins that part where they all told jokes and funny stories while they laughed and floated to the ceiling?
That sounds like fun...I swear I haven't lost it. haha
I am so glad I know how to make a joke.
