kitchen skin care

Hydrating Honey Mask
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup honey

Combine yogurt and honey and mix until well blended. Apply to face and leave on for five minutes, then rinse off with lukewarm water. This mask gently moisturizes without being heavy or greasy.

I have always loved using natural ingredients that I have on hand to make my own skin care items and think that they would make really great gifts.

Let's have a slumber party and do homemade facials! And paint our fingernails! And eat lots of chocolate! :)

This reminds me of when my friend and I were in 7th grade and I spent the night at her house and brought over a page from a magazine with natural beauty products. The most memorable of the evening was the mashed banana mask we put on our hair--under plastic wrap and then let it all "set" while we sat under the stars at 3am. Then we almost went bananas trying to wash all that out of our hair. Goodtimes!

LOVE IT! This reminds me of Korres Yogurt Mask. I really love using natural products on my face. I really like Korres Thyme Honey moisturizer and the Yes to Carrots line as well!

Sounds like I'd be too tempted to eat it and wouldn't be able to leave it on my face for the required time :) Have a lovely weekend, Nicolex

I'm so glad you posted this, I was just thinking about how much I needed some good natural moisturizers. Do you have a favorite home-made hand scrub?

I love to make my own masks as well. I like to add olive oil and manuka honey as it has the highest amount of antibacterial activity in it. I love it for my green tea as well. Hope you are having a lovely weekend!

Do you have to refrigerate these products? How fast do you have to use up the products? Once you jar them how soon do you have to use them? I love the idea!

I want to try this! Here is a random and maybe stupid question though... because there is yogurt in this does it need to stay refrigerated?? how long is it's "shelf life"

does this need to be refrigerated if you're giving it for gifts?
