{maintaining & messes}

I really would rather be more like the fairy godmother as opposed to the stepmother but...

living in such shambles kind of was, well you know.  After all, I could not bear to walk into the girls room one more time in this condition.  "You can only go to Nana's or to the park (equivalant to the ball) IF you clean your room", said I their desperate Mommason.

Seriously though, I like the method my little girl has for cleaning the room with her head in the bucket.  At this rate the room will be clean by the time the clock strikes midnight.

Perhaps it's time to implement a rewards system..

Look @ these neat tickets that Ambrosia Girl designed.  Go here for the free download.  Thank you Ambrosia Girl!

Here's to maintaining my friends.

The one with the head in the bucket should have been MY twin sister. At least, I was just like that when I was a kid. I would WRITHE in "pain" and angst, with my back arched as far as it could go, any time my mom would even MENTION the words "clean up" or "time out." WRITHE. Not kidding.

great idea...although I'm not so sure it will keep Little M's head out of the basket!!

It will not surprise you to know we have the same problems around here. One time when my older girls were little (4 and 5 I think) we were having an issue with clean rooms. Then I went upstairs to check and it was miraculously clean! I was amazed and rewarded them accordingly. The next day I walked into their bathroom, shut the door, and found a mountain of stuff hiding behind it! Literally, a mountain taller than either of them. My sweet little innocent young darlings had taken their belongings and shoved them behind the bathroom door. Not the closets or under beds. They knew I would check there. I was pretty ticked. And at the same time a little impressed...

Bless your little girls' messy nest! I used to share a room with my sis...finally had to put a masking tape line down the center stating, "DO NOT CROSS!" Funny thing is...now she's the neat one! AH! Memories!
