Sometimes I wonder if my kids are normal. They probably are the only kids that sometimes like to find crayons, pens, and sharpie markers to decorate our house or Grandmas house, which ever which one. Hmmm maybe they wouldn't take a liking to any of the above listed paraphernalia if I gave them a piece a chalk and let them go wild on their very own chalkboard walls. Hmmm..I wonder......

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. That's all I have to say.
I don't have any advice on how to get the marker off the wall but wish you luck anyway.
They need a chalkboard table or just super glue them to their beds... nah, thats mean.
I second the magic eraser
Glad to see I'm not the only one whose child loves drawing on things with pens. Yes, she prefers pens to everything else! I love those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. This is why I took your project! I went to an antique store and found a super cheap antique mirror and made the magnetic chalkboard for my daughers room. I put the ABC magnets on it and chalk in a bucket and she LOVES it! Although, she doesn't have to fight for space on it like your kids would have to do! It's deinitely help save a wall or two since I made it!
My children would just love this. Also I use washable crayons and markers only. So far it has come off clothes, our sofa, and floor.
what a cute idea! My daughter hasn't gotten to the drawing on walls stage yet but even when she does I don't think her encouraging her with chalkboard walls would be a good idea :) even though these pictures are cute beyond belief!
I love the room with the map on the wall. I always wanted to have a map on the wall in my boys bedroom! I love to see all the fun projects you are doing! It seems like only yesterday and all my kids were babies and now they are all grown up! Enjoy your sweets kids they grow up so fast!
My advice to you is to stop buying white. Love you sis.
maybe the wallpaper is going to have to be put on the back burner so you can do the chalkboard wall in the play room.....will the projects never end???? :)
Magic Eraser all the way. If the walls are white, diluted bleach works great. Mimi has taken a liking to the whole make your house a gallery thing. I feel your pain. You need to hide the crayons and bring them out only when you can supervise. That's your only hope! I do think the chalkboard walls is a very clever idea indeed. Super cute.
I've been just itching to put some of that chalkboard paint somewhere in my home...my children would love it!!
I think I would love it too!
The chalkboard paint works well. Try it on the bottom part of some walls. Put it in a place that everyone can see. That way you have new drawings all the time, it is a conversation starter as people come in. That way you can be proud of the work that they do and do not have to get upset. Pillows on the floor. Make it a fun place for them to do the art.One family painter the lower cabinets in the kitchen with the chalkboard paint. They had new decor every day. Enjoy your little ones, they are not that way for long.

The chalkboard room is now something I WANT ! How awesome would that be !
I have been debating doing chalkboard paint in my hallway in different colors for each kiddo. I found the recipe for any color of chalkboard paint online, and have been thinking up a project. I can show you when it is done if you want.
