The DIY project that almost happened

Photobucket

Photobucket

So the above was going to be the lastest DIY project that I was going to tackle. As with many things I reserve the right to change my mind a million times. Now we are back to upholstered headboards combined with a possible bunkbed. Trying to work my boys room has been a tad tricky as I try to fit 3 beds into a very small room and still make it look good.

Anyway I thought I would share a peek into one of the latest projects that almost happened but didn't. Would somebody else pls. give the above project a try? The Ikea bed frame can be found for only $79.99.

If I had space for another bed in the apartment I'd totally give this a try - what a fun project!

It does sound like a great DIY and the bed in the photo is quite amazing, but I am afraid I can not do this at this moment.

I may just have to give this a try!!! It would be perfect for my son's shark/nautical room that is very in need of a headboard. Thanks for the great idea!

Call me kooky, but what about PVC pipes to frame out the headboard? It would give it the round look on the beams and the material would be completely covered in the rope.

I do love this look by the way.

I adore the inspiration pic. Something about the fun pop of color on the bedding with the rusticness of the wood. Good DIY idea!

Lorilyn...yes great idea. Pls. make one out of PVC pipe and share with us. I thought that the IKEA bed was pretty tubular though. I need to go to IKEA and take another looksey.

Good price on the Ikea bed and plenty of possibilities. I hope you get the chance to tackle this one at some point. Let us know!

Hi....First, let me say that I love your blog!!

I'm not sure what theme/idea you had in mind with the rope, but did you see this bed?? You could get creative with your need of space and the three beds.

I actually did attempt this DIY project out of PVC pipe and it looks fabulous! I don't have pictures of it yet because I am still hiding the headboard in a closet until my husband goes out of town on a work trip and then I am going to do a whole bedroom reveal.

That would have been amazing. Whatever you decide to do with the beds, it will no doubt be unbelievable.
PS - Before we moved we had three boys sharing a room and we were going to make a triple bunkbed. Do your boys like to bunk?
