{pendant lights} I almost forgot how to blog

 photo 689ef99c-4f83-44ab-aef1-37f199570a51_zps49cf75f3.jpg

Dearest friends, I understand it's been a very very long time. I know there is no need for explanations but I've been pondering a few things...like how and if writing here can compliment some of my other ventures.  Life is too short..which means I've got to shimmy and readjust those things that will help me feel efficient and purposeful...that is the angle I think will work best pressing forward.  Anyway not to bore you.  How are you all?  It's been fun to keep track of some of you all on my Instagram.  Speaking of Instagram I shared my new pendant lights and had a few inquires as to where I purchased them so how about I just put it out there.  Originally when I set out to get lighting for the space I immediately thought that I wanted something like the Urban Electric Globus pendant but the price point was a deterrent.

Here is what the inspiration pendants look like:

I then sourced globe after globe pendant and happened upon the below half frosted half clear globe which happens to be from a to the trade lamp parts store  If that is not an option then they can also be purchased at the retail price here.  Finding these were a major stepping stone to completing the pendant scenario.  And what did you know the glass globes were even 12 inches in diameter (I didn't want anything smaller).  The next step was either build the fixture from scratch or buy a fixture that was already assembled with a 6" fitter.  I gave up my dreams of making one from scratch when I noticed that the Harding fixture from School House Electric was on sale.  Once I picked out the natural brass finish we were in business.

It's coming along.  I love love how custom the pendants turned out.  Now onto picking out the hood and that backsplash.  I think I'm onto something.

Thank you so much for all of the love and support.

There are not enough hours in the day I say.

Can't seem to keep on top of things.

That's OK though because I just found the most wonderful lacquered trays and boxes from Home Goods that look just like this and that. They are really quite lovely so I would not blame you if you headed over to your nearest Home Goods. I could think of a few friends right now that could REALLY use the them in white and black.

Also I really quite enjoy the above fabric that I ordered swatches in all of the colorways. Fabric via Lewis & Sheron.

When I catch up I will be back.

Ever since my Grandma had a pair of butterflies hanging on her wall that she had brought home from a church mission I have been a fan of them. Also one of my first dates with the boyfriend/husband was to a butterfly exhibit...so not only are they beautiful in decor but very sentimental to me. I know so tender...hand me a tissue. Actually the only one that needed a tissue was probably husband because he still didn't get the kiss even after trying to lure me in by taking me to such an exhibit. I think he should give the butterfly exhibit another try though...ya never know what could happen these days.

Dad's creative touch

Somebody asked me how the photo wall was coming along. I say it is 87.954% done.

I feel the need to point out that some of my very most favorite items that I have added to the ledges have been art that my Dad did in college. My Dad constantly inspires me and even though he didn't use his art degree for his career, I still got to be the recipient of his creativity. I truly do prize every single piece of art that I have acquired from him.

P.S. - Thank goodness for affordable wall ledges @ IKEA.

{savor, relish, enjoy, bask}

Since my blog is kind of like my happy place that I can use as a place to organize thoughts and things that I can file away for later then I am going to sort a few things out today that are flying around in my head.

First, my kids are really good about teaching me how to slow down even if it is Sunday morning and we are trying to make 8:30 AM church. I decided as long as I am trying my absolute best just to even get there that I am going to be fine with that. No more Sunday knot in my stomach. When I walked out and saw them playing on the 2 green chairs while waiting to load into the car my heart melted.

Secondly, thank you Dad for the delivery of my lovely greenie chairs and thank you to Whitney for taking such great care of them.  It has felt like Christmas early this year with a new couch and chairs.  Did I mention I only paid $28 a piece for the green chairs...we won't mention the price on the sectional though.  Hopefully the sectional will pay back itself with all of the family time spent a snuggling on it.  I love that the chairs go with the artichoke picture.  I love green accents...color of nature.

Don't forget about the colors in the below bedroom to incorporate into the family room.

I've been thinking now that I need to finish dressing up the new seating arrangements which happens to be right up my alley since I love fabrics & pillows (again pls. do not ask husband about our abundance of fabric & pillows...you'll never know when you may need that pillow that was a really great deal) . I already have some fabric that has been hanging out in my closet for a couple a years.  I should probably just use that but between the internet & Home Goods I can't stop thinking about these other options:

{my fabric}

Lastly, simplicity & gratitude is where it's at. I love Thanksgiving time. I almost have the Thanksgiving fireplace mantle done & that is making me so happy but still need to make a photo garland.

NOTE TO SELF:  In case I get all grouchy and forget to slow down and feel all of the due gratitude then pls. refer to this season's "buzz words" which happen to be savor, relish, enjoy & bask in the moment.  I love this time of year.
