gratitude & abundance

The other day I felt like as was going to be on the verge of a mood.  My camera WILL NOT work in the sunlight.  Nope not on manual, not on TV, not AV and certainly not automatic. Playing in Nana & Bacca's backyard brought some beautiful lighting & the boys were so happy swinging, picking the metal cricket out of Bacca's garden (shhh) & playing catch but my darn camera would not operate properly.  I was pretty sure it was because the boys (or girls..either which grouping of children) dumped water on top of the camera the other day.  I went inside to see if the camera worked indoors.

Hmmm, still a little blurry but much better.  The first place I went to snap a picture was Nana's dining room.  A room in the house that really only gets used a handful of times a year.  One being none other than that great day of thanks that is really just around the corner.  For some reason I had a little extra gratitude in my heart right then & there just thinking about celebrating Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving should actually be a daily occurrence in my opinion  You see, I have been given so much, an abundance in fact.  It's amazing how in an instance replacing gratitude for any negative thought can lift ones spirits or diminish thoughts that even are on the verge of going down negative lane.  After that I followed those cute little chipmunks around the house.  I am amazed & grateful @ the chance to be their mother.  Perfectly healthy normal boys who teach me so much, which I am grateful for (even if they break & ruin things).  Is it normal for little boys to live trucks up on a wall;-)

Of course it wouldn't be normal if I thought more about the food served on Thanksgiving as opposed to decorating the table.  I can't help it.

you are so right. i can be in the middle of a project (all in 10 minute intervals) & pure chaos breaks out during those 10 minutes. but when i take a step back, i do feel so grateful for the abundance. anything can be replaced, but not these sweet years.

oh my gosh, if i could just have a glass of water at any of those tables!!! i wouldn't even have to eat. i would be in heaven. just lovely.

Sorry about your camera! I'd cry!
Anyway, I have no idea how you find the time to find those beautiful decor pics. but, I'm sure thankful that you do! I love the inspiration, even if I never follow through!

Nice post on Thanksgiving. I am so grateful too.

Ummmm, did I mention that the children got the eggs out of the fridge....WHILE I WAS IN THE SHOWER.

I went on an Easter egg hunt in November.

It was only on the hard woods.

ps. i never told you how great you made the bloggers lounge look!! it was fabulous.

You're getting me in the mood to decorate for Thanksgiving! Nana's house is lovely (is that your mom?). Is that where you get your style sense?

What great tables, such good ideas for the holiday. How would not love to have any one of those on the table.

Glad that your camera is still working inside if not outside. Beautiful photos of the inside of the house. Love the color choice in those rooms.

You think the water spilling on the camera made it so it wouldn't focus or do you think there is water in it that is making it look blurry?

That's so strange. The dining room shots looked good so maybe there's nothing wrong with it.

I too have had some camera trouble. I dropped my camera on the ground this week and cracked the lens. Lucky for me it was just the filter covering the lens but now it is bend on and won't come off. It's my favorite lens too. Everytime I take a picture with it you can see the cracks show up in the picture...ugg!
