Maintaining & sustaining via my loves

Want me to share one of my biggest loves?

Tuh Duh!

I wanted to share this with you because not only is it nutritious, it's delicious.  In fact this may be what sustains me for half the day until I find time for lunch.  Are you wondering what goes into making such a delightful dish?

Well let's just say it consists of three of the power foods plus the added power of sprouted wheat berries.  Just try it before you think it may be unpalatable.  Take fresh blueberries, some cut up strawberries, a good vanilla yogurt with all natural ingredients, then top with walnuts (walnuts are good for their high omega content) and sprouted wheat berries.  For some people the sprouted wheat berries is where they draw the line but just trust me when I say they are power packed with nutrients & aren't disgusting.

Wheat Sprouts Nutrition

The nutritional content of the wheat berry quadruples in some of the vitamins and minerals through the sprouting process. For example, once the wheat berry is sprouted, vitamin B-12 quadruples, other B vitamins increases 3 to 12 times, vitamin E content triples, and the fiber content increases three to four times that of whole wheat bread! According to research undertaken at the University of Minnesota, sprouting increases the total nutrient density of wheat berries. Here is an example of what happens to the wheat berry once it sprouts. It’s absolutely amazing!

  • Vitamin B1 (thiamin) increase of 28%
  • Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) increase of 315%
  • Vitamin B3 (niacin) increase of 66%
  • Vitamin B5 (pantathenic) increase of 65%
  • Biotin increase of 111%
  • Folic acid increase of 278%
  • Vitamin C increase of 300%

The best thing is they aren't very expensive and they are very versatile as they can be added to salads, soups & tossed on any cooked food such as rice, pasta, & vegetable stir fry dishes.

Now the other thing I have been loving is my new maxi dress.  The funny thing though was that I instantly fell in love with it in the dressing room as I tried it on to find it was super long like down to the ground long.  Well that super long thing has really come into play today because I discovered the dress dupes as a duster/sweeper/mopper.  It almost cleaned all of the yogurt the boys spilled on the floor.  I guess the only kid friendly option is pajamas these days & believe me I am fine with that but every once in a while a good dress is necessary.  Have I mentioned how much use my broom gets?

P.S. - I am in love with the below image.  Anybody who knows me will understand why.  Let me just say this type of joint would be one of the first places I would like to escape to.  Ribbons & notions & tims...oh my!

Yummy. How about taking trims and lining the lamp shades? All differnt color, round and round? What would be pretty and funky :)
Just a thought. Gotta try the sprouted wheat berries and love the lamps. Ok now I've commented on all 3 posts! Gotta multitask with these twins!

sprinklesbowtique -

Let me think about a good post on the healthy food items. Maybe I'll try to start posting something weekly like a recipe or some bit of something that seems to be working. Thanks for your comment.
