marble-ization to meringue

Photobucket
I keep noticing this whole marble-ized movement thing lately. Actually it has been around for a very long time and in fact when I went to open my green hymn book @ church there it was again on the inside of the covers...marble-ization.

Anyway last night Miguel Flores-Vianna had a tag sale that included the above plates, which then lead me to think about Kelly Wearster for SFERRA because she designed the below pillow...see they're both all marble-y. Which P.S., if you like Kelly Wearstler for SFERRA I suggest checking out Neiman Marcus Last Call because the one here locally just got a nice shipment of really pretty items.

Where was I...oh yes back to marble-ization and those plates and Miguel. After I checked out the sale I then clicked on the link to Miguel's website and observed his photography in action. Remember the below spread from Domino...well he photographed it & to be quite honest it makes me want to eat meringue while thinking about marble stuff.

adventures in shopping & Armelle jewelry

Photobucket

Photobucket

Good morning! I first saw the top picture over on Design Darling and thought it looked kind of cute. What do you think of framing shopping bags? What I am wondering is what retail establishment has the best design in the branding of the their bags because it certainly is not TJ Maxx..where most of my bags are from.

Speaking of shopping, I am pleased to pass along the offer to recieve 20% off anything from the Armelle shop until Jan. 1st. I am thinking this would be a great Christmas gift. Go here for a peak and don't forget to enter the code (HOLIDAY20) to get your discount. Beautiful pieces that Caroline makes I say.

{fullness in my heart}

I'm having a moment.

I wonder if my girls will ever know that sometimes after I drop them off at school or at the bus stop I wait there for a couple of minutes and marvel in my love for them as I watch them on the playground or driving off on the bus.

Who knows maybe they will read what I wrote someday and will totally understand why I do what I do because they will be doing the same things..but hopefully better.

I love that fullness in the heart kind of feeling...
and when I don't have to work hard to have those feelings..
because lets face it, sometimes those sort of feelings take work..
A LOT of work...if you know what I mean.

P.S. - I almost forgot to mention that when I was brushing Maile's "ratsies" out before school she turned and looked at me and declared in all of her huffy puffy glory, "My hair is not a fan of all of this brushing". To that I say good thing there is not such thing as Hairbook (or was that Facebook) so that she didn't feel the pressure to become a fan or something.

obsessed with metallic linen

Especially for the holidays I am LOVING metallic linens. The above linen clutches are from Etsy seller MPsen.

The above envelopes are beautiful and very reasonably priced..like we are talking 50 for $5.50 and can be found here..what a quality look for sending those Christmas cards in.

Lastly after seeing Windsor Smith's spread in Rue magazine, I really want to buy some of that metallic linen I have only had in swatch form thus far. I think it is absolutely gorgeous.

P.S. - Do you read Rue? If you don't then you should go to see if you might like it too. Go here for the latest online issue....like sister Eliza you should read it because you were asking about magazines last night...

{sequins and handmade cards}

I have Christmas cards on the brain my friends. How about making really lovely cards like Lynda did over at Happenstance Home. Her cards are actually invites to an event but I love the concept for family Christmas cards using a handful of single sequins. Step by step instructions can be found over here.

Want a little sneaky peak of part of our family pictures..I really try hard not to take advantage of my good friend Michelle but I have to be honest I called her up on Monday and by Wednesday she had a location secured and pictures snapped. Thank you Michelle. I know I don't mention Michelle that often..haha..but if you need a really cool photographer then you just may want to consider her. She can be found over here.

123's

Photobucket
PhotobucketPhotobucket

If you are like us then you are learning your ABC's and 123's and it is so much fun. Well we just pulled out the tree and started decorating the "kid fantasy tree" and since the kids are learning their numbers I thought that we would incorporate that into the tree. Lucky me they sell the above metal numbers @ Home Depot for a dollar something a piece and even have a little hole to thread some twine through so that they can hang from our tree. Don't you love finding things in the most unsuspecting places?

P.S. - The little elves in a sleigh happen to be this years inaugural ornament for the fun tree...isn't it perfect for my little equation...

Hope everyone is having a very nice day.

{DIY Pom-Poms}

Did you know there was such a thing as a pom pom maker. Well there is and apparently there is one that is 10 times faster than the conventional pom pom maker. Now I really want one to make Christmas tree garland out of yarn. Anyway the DIY pom-pom garland as well as all of the above pictures are from Erica's blog and I might add she has quite a few cool DIY projects over there...so head on over here for more of the details.

Tres high chairs

To Shan (president of the triplet club):

The below picture illustrates that a few of these high chairs from Overstock wouldn't be too bad.

It may not be exactly the same but it does have restraining gear attached for when you serve those stinky brussel sprouts.

THREE high chairs.

Word.

I really love the charm of this home in Argentina. How about that living room with those colors and the plaid...I do believe it looks pretty festive.
