On a whim I booked a hotel fifteen minutes away from our home called the Saguaro. You see husband had a birthday and his only request was that he got to sleep in. To remedy this request we outsourced a place to sleep. The cool thing about the whole experience was that we walked into the hotel with the same clothes we walked out with. No packing except for our bathing suits and a few toiletries. A couple of highlights from our stay included the fact that we were the very first ones to sleep in the newly renovated room and we were also the only ones at the pool area. I do have to admit the weather was pretty chilly but with heated pools and hot tub it all worked out just fine. Now if this sort of place looks like it would be up your alley and you come and visit us in the valley of the sun then I would recommend it for many reason including the most comfortable beds. What are you waiting for? Come and visit us because we really are in our season of joy in this neck of the desert...

How was your weekend?

I think all of the details from the Hotel Thoumieux in Paris look a little quirky but oh so clever, fun and chic. The hotel was designed by India Mahdavi. India has a great site right here that is full of her designs projects.

Oh and if you are wondering the above wallpaper is from here.

{Let's go to London}

One ought to stay @ the Connaught....more specifically in the rooms that David Collins designed.

Do you ever get the Top 20 sent to your inbox from TravelZoo? I think for 8 years now I have waited for that email to come every Wed. while dreaming where I wanted to go next. In fact as of late I am waiting for that perfect deal to London. While I wait I hope I don't continue to have dreams about going to New York and checking into a hotel with bedbugs. That's what I get for reading this before bed. I kept trying to find plastic air tight baggies to protect all of my clothes.

Anyway...

I am totally taken with the rebranding for the Claridge Hotel in London. It was done by Construct, a London design studio. To read more about it go here.

The Claridge Hotel has most recently been a buzz because some of their recently renovated rooms were designed by Diane Von Furstenburg. For a quick refresher here is a peak at a couple of the rooms DVF designed:

Remember all of the hotels we dreamt about last week...well all of those hotels have a common interest because they were designed by Michele Bonan who also happened to also design the JK Capri in Italy....which happens to be one my favorite hotels that has served as inspiration to me on more than one occasion as seen here. From the looks of a the sampling I gave last week I am sure you can see that whatever Michele gets his hands on turns to gold. I would love to stay at any one of the hotels he has had a hand in designing. I love all of those cute little chairs with the rings on the back that he uses more than not.

Anyway go here to see more Michele Bonan's work and go here to see more hotels that he has had a hand in decorating.

Now will somebody pls. go to stay at one of these fine hotels pls.?
