Don't turn me into the authorities but I have yet to put any Christmas decor out....I did however manage to go with a pretty & witty red headed friend to help craft Anthropologie's next window treatment. We didn't know that was what we would be doing before we got there so it was fun to see the magic of their window displays in action. Anyway they didn't send us home emptied handed. We made glistening starburst things out of drink stirrers. I think they would make great Christmas decorations...
All you have to do is get your hands on some clear plastic prism food stick or drink stirrers and poke a couple different lengths into a styrofoam ball. I was told that the prism sticks are hard to find but if you go here you can get some of your own...the power of googling.
genius!!

ReplyDeleteThanks SO much for this post! I have seen pokey, sphere thingies, and I have wanted to replicate them. I wasn't sure how to go about it, since everything I tried wouldn't stay in the styrofoam. Love them!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove this crystal look! It's got me thinking about making this craft using some bamboo skewers for an organic look as a change of pace. Or even paint them to coordinate with other accessories. Thanks for sharing this great idea.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love! What a great project the kids could help with and then keep out all winter!

So clever!! I would have never guessed that was DIY. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely gorgeous. I'm making them as xmas party favors this year. Every year my sister and I invent some kind of ornament to give as table gifts for Christmas. This year I'm making these and spraying them with glitter glue for a more glistening effect. Thanks so much for this idea!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway they didn't send us home emptied handed. We made glistening starburst things out of drink stirrers. beach holidays
