window treatment inspiration

Photobucket

Just a quick one picture post because I am scrambling to get everybody out of the house before the painter comes. We are finally getting out woodwork painted. Anyway the above picture serves as inspiration to how I am going to approach a window treatment in our home except mine would not be as long and it would be mounted above the window. Now just trying to decide if it will be a DIYer project. I could sure benefit from a sewing machine if I had one and if I knew how to use one properly...Stay tuned.

Have a lovely day!

  1. Can I be jealous that you are having your woodwork painted? Ours needs to be done, but budget constraints make it DIY right now.

    Thoughts on doing it yourself?

BTW - I like the idea of these window treatments - but they seem too long for me...Is it meant to cover up something ugly at that length??

  2. Erika - I think these are actually custom shades on a roller so they can go up and down. I agree they are too long but I am going to use the bottom design as inspiration for a fixed window treatment in my girls room.

  4. Good luck with the painting! I'm feeling like January is a great time to tackle the big indoor projects. Well, especially in Michigan!

  5. i have one. a sewing machine, that is. and, i haven't a clue how to use it.

but i do have a chair waiting for a slipcover, so i suppose i should at least try to learn how to turn the thing on. soon. i mean, the throw blanket i have draped over it now can't stay there forever.

    or, can it?

anyway, i love the window treatments. the ones you're envisioning. because i'm a mind reader and know what you're envisioning. ha.

i kind of love the antlers too. and, that reminds me... my aunts husband invited me to tag along with him and the boys in the Spring to search for antlers the deer have shed. i know, be jealous. ;)

i'm jealous you're having your trim painted. we, and by "we" i mean "i" painted our entire house of trim and doors. worst.week.ever. and i will never again agree to a house with trim that needs painted.

good luck! enjoy your day out of the house.

  7. There are so many wonderful things going on in this picture. The wall sconce lights, wood floors, garland down the table, window treatments... Stunning.

  11. Homeowners have many different reasons for window replacement. Some are simply looking to improve their view from both inside and out
of their house. A window replacement job can enhance the interior and exterior beauty of any house by freshening up its look and
updating its style. Window replacement can significantly enhance the look of a house and give it added curb appeal. On the inside of
your home, window replacement can let more natural light, can add to the décor of any room, and improve the view of the outside. It's
amazing how much an upgrade can enhance the view of your own yard or neighborhood.

  12. Many more homeowners are interested in window replacement to cut down on the cost of energy and make their home much more energy efficient. They also want their windows replaced to eliminate those chilly winter drafts and prevent their cool air from leaking out in the summer.
