First, my kids are really good about teaching me how to slow down even if it is Sunday morning and we are trying to make 8:30 AM church. I decided as long as I am trying my absolute best just to even get there that I am going to be fine with that. No more Sunday knot in my stomach. When I walked out and saw them playing on the 2 green chairs while waiting to load into the car my heart melted.
Secondly, thank you Dad for the delivery of my lovely greenie chairs and thank you to Whitney for taking such great care of them. It has felt like Christmas early this year with a new couch and chairs. Did I mention I only paid $28 a piece for the green chairs...we won't mention the price on the sectional though. Hopefully the sectional will pay back itself with all of the family time spent a snuggling on it. I love that the chairs go with the artichoke picture. I love green accents...color of nature.
Don't forget about the colors in the below bedroom to incorporate into the family room.
I've been thinking now that I need to finish dressing up the new seating arrangements which happens to be right up my alley since I love fabrics & pillows (again pls. do not ask husband about our abundance of fabric & pillows...you'll never know when you may need that pillow that was a really great deal) . I already have some fabric that has been hanging out in my closet for a couple a years. I should probably just use that but between the internet & Home Goods I can't stop thinking about these other options:
{my fabric}
Lastly, simplicity & gratitude is where it's at. I love Thanksgiving time. I almost have the Thanksgiving fireplace mantle done & that is making me so happy but still need to make a photo garland.
NOTE TO SELF: In case I get all grouchy and forget to slow down and feel all of the due gratitude then pls. refer to this season's "buzz words" which happen to be savor, relish, enjoy & bask in the moment. I love this time of year.
those green chairs are awesome! and your babies are adorable. i don't know how you do it!
ReplyDeletelove your blog! do you mind sharing where the sectional is from? i really like the tufted cushions and the color. thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have some serious love for those green chairs.
ReplyDeleteMind if I feature them on my blog?
I saw some similar ones on Craigslist last weekend and now I want them after seeing yours.
They will look stunning with the black and white pillows. I like all the options but I think the greek key pattern would really pop.
Can I move in? Your house looks sooooooo good! I love it! Keep up the good work super mama!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have a gift for decorating...but then again, you always have even when you were quite small!
ReplyDeletei remember those green chairs when you showed us a glimpse via your camera phone. i love green.
ReplyDeletelove your title of this post. it really is such a special time of year. i just know we would be serious "in person" BFF if we were neighbors. i think together we would drive our husbands crazy, though. :)
I love those chairs. Green is my most favorite color.
ReplyDeleteconnorsb1 - thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe leather sectional is from http://www.barileatherfurniture.com/...I was having the hardest time finding a sectional that I like so I ordered it online. They sent swatches first and had excellent customer service. The leather is awesome. The vendor that made our couch used to be the one Restoration Hardware purchased from except they charged double what you could get from Bari. Anyway hope that helps.
Your green chairs ROCK! And the price, seriously!!
ReplyDeleteSavor, relish, enjoy, bask - what a great mantra!!

ReplyDeletemommaruth - the mirror is what I would call a quarter foil style. I actually found it @ TJ Maxx. I found one that was more expensive online. When I find that resource I will send it over your way.

ReplyDeleteHi all,
ReplyDeleteI was told by Christina that someone is looking for a quatrefoil mirror? The one I found seemed to be at JCP.

Wow! what a great post. Enjoyed it all. It is the time of year that we need to slow down and savor, relish, enjoy, bask. But we get into the rush rush of the season. Here is to hoping that we can all do just that.
