The change itch.
I need a change. All I know is things need to be mixed up a bit and I feel the need to get a little crazy. Usually when this urge happens I can satisfy that feeling by cutting my hair or something. I use to get a new cut or new color every other month before I was married. I've sort of wussed out with my hair after I asked for Elizabeth Hurley brown and got really black hair. Then we moved to Northern CA and the cheapest haircut I could find was $85. That's when I took the low maintenance route and I've been stuck in hair cruise control ever since. Well until that big hair day change happens I think I will go paint my front door. It's currently white but can use some color. Does black qualify? What do you think? Almost anything will go as I live in a tan house kind of like the one right below.
I have a dark tan house with white trim and black shutters. I just LOVE my black front door!
ReplyDeleteIn our previous home, it was grey with white trim. I painted the front door red and it was beautiful.
I personally don't care for white doors on most houses. They seem to sort of fade away. I say go with the black!
I like the robin's egg blue :) but I also fancy a red door...my door is red :) Love the blog and love your hair.
ReplyDeletemy front door is black and i fall in love with it every time i open her!!
ReplyDeletelet us know if you change yours!!
I love the tangerine door! So bold! I wish I could get away with that color on my door...
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what your door looks like...everything you do turns out fabulous! Maybe I will get to see it in person, we may be down in a few weeks.
ReplyDeletei love love love RED front doors. i vote red! i'm painting mine this summer. i can't wait!
ReplyDeleteYou haven't heard of a blog book? You can download your blog and make a hardbound book on Blurb.com. You can choose your background pages and formats, etc. I haven't done one yet but a lot of my friends have. Less time than scrapbooking!
ReplyDeleteOoo, I love the first one. I thought you already painted your door for a minute.
ReplyDeleteI ALWAYS love red doors...but I am LOVING the aqua ones. And the pink one! So darling.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! Love the pink and teal doors! So fun and unexpected.
ReplyDeleteAre we on the same page? I think! oh change. Being a SAHM, change is needed sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI just painted my front door a light robin's egg blue and I love it. It's fresh and bright and welcoming. But I love the orange too!
Can't wait to see what you do.

hmmmmm, what about that yellow too? It's hard to choose. Polka dots?
I'm definitely a fan of painted doors...but I have to admit, nothing beats g'ma and g'pa Vance's turquoise front door with the geometric shapes.
ReplyDeleteAll those fab houses (that are not dirt colored tract homes like mine) are making me feel bad. Thanks for that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for voting for me!
PS I still have the little white Acura. He is 19 years old and sits in my garage. I think it stresses Jen out to know he's there. She doesn't keep things for sentimental value. Especially vehicles.
I so love the aqua doors. Go for something different. I see a lot of red and black doors.
ReplyDeleteI painted mine red and I really like it.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with that tangerine door! I hope you don't mind, but I blogged it. :-)
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, Oregon.
I get that same itch for change all the time. I like all the doors and I love that boxwood wreath with the H on it! Hope you're having a good week.
