miracles do happen...

Photobucket

Pictures can be deceiving. For example the above picture may illustrate to some that I just have the most well behaved little three year old triplet boys on the planet.

Oh MERCY, where do I begin.

I actually was waiting in line at the store and if I were to have heard one more person say, "Wow you have your hands full", I was going to be perturbed. Not because I am easily driven to the perturbed state by the public eye but because every time I went to take inventory I came up short and it was stressing me out...in fact it was making me sweat (I have never had such bad BO in my life..I just blame it on the arrival of the triplets). One felt the need to rip a few things off the shelves to the right, another one felt the need to cut off all of the legitimate high blood pressure candidates just so that he could pester the machine's buttons. Then there was the third one and he was just plain no where to be found. I didn't know if he took off because he was bitter that I would not let him have the big dump truck after he kept throwing a tantrum or if somebody snatched him. Nonetheless I was totally annoyed in that moment because my children also suddenly could not hear a word I had to say...which would have been forgivable if they were at least deaf mutes. Don't fret the mute part need not apply because they were as loud as they come. Just for the record, broken ears and loud voices are not of the best assortments...pretty much not my favorite. Just as I was about to give up I looked over and beheld three boys playing very nicely on the bench outside of the pharmacy. It was like Christmas & a miracle joined together to hold hands. Prayers were answered. Well sort of. Mostly that answer came in the form of, "You are so lucky to have very normal three year old boys and this time is short lived so just try to relax."

Speaking of relaxing sometimes I do it so much that I almost forgot that my little boys break and ruin things on a daily basis. I am not kidding I think one thing is broken or ruined on average once a day. Thankfully I have people like my Mom to bring me back to planet earth when I bring home or want to decorate the boys room with something that may not be conducive for surviving their environment. Case in point, I just returned the below Oscar de la Renta rug that I bought from One Kings Lane. However I did decide to buy the below hand blocked saree stripe quilt from here. The whole process is taking forever but if the bedding works out then I think we are onto something and I will have photos of the finished project very soon.

Just a few things I may or may not be considering.

Side note: In life after one says their prayers amongst a few other principals it is all about balance. Like decorate and use retail therapy just enough so that one doesn't end up in the pharmacy line again with her three little boys in tow if you know what I mean:-) Wells's new medication is finally helping his very itchy skin, hooray.

have you ever...

...considered putting two twin beds together?
I have, but wasn't so confident on the matter. After seeing the below in Isabel Lopez-Quesada's portfolio I rethought pushing two twin beds together. Also included some more pretties from the twinnies house.Photobucket

I thought Jennifer Aniston was buying the above place but apparently not because word on the street is that she just bought the below for half the price (I find out all of the BIG news on my Yahoo homepage). Why would one care anyway...well because the top place is one of my favorite spaces designed by Lauren Stern Design group. If you are not familiar with their work then go here to become acquainted with it. You will likey.

a blast from my past (Keri Russell)

Photobucket

On the last day of school before Keri moved away my buddy Newly wrote in my yearbook, "Pls. tell Keri I will never forget her". I smile at that now because I am pretty sure anybody who went to Kino Jr. High back in the day has not forgotten Keri. Keri and I spent our last project in school that year as partners for a science project. Bless her heart, she never wanted to get in trouble by talking in class but didn't want to make me feel bad either because I had a chatty habit (sorry Mom). Lots of great memories of growing up and birthday slumber parties with our little group of girl friends. We may have even had a dance off after we all watched Sarah Jessica Parker in "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"..do you remember that one? Keri was always one of the nicest ones around and a friend to all. Anyway it has been fun to follow her along on her career. After I saw her home in Elle Decor I thought, "Well that makes sense". I think her personal fashion style translates into her home.Photobucket

Like her chandelier...then may I suggest an affordable option here or here (oh shoot that second one is not exactly budget friendly..I will keep looking).

Happy Mother's Day!!

Photobucket

Wow, time has flown by which means I am opting for a bit of a repost. I feel fine about that because I never get sick of celebrating mother hearts and feel like I could repost this everyday and never get sick of it..unlike that room I probably posted about with zigzags a couple years ago;-)

Few of us will reach our potential without the nurturing of both the mother who bore us and the mothers who bear with us.

-Sheri Dew

Mom -
Thanks for teaching me to be strong. You are the main reason to why I know that motherhood is an opportunity of a lifetime and my most noble calling. I truly do think that good mothers around the world are the secret weapon in life.

I love you Momma!

I need a tissue now. Good memories were had in that wood paneled station wagon. I remember that day when Mom dressed us up as pioneers and took us to the mountains for a picnic.

Moms are the best!

Happy Mothers Day to all of you other fine woman out there.

First Friday Flier 05|11 (not to edge)

Very excited for my friend Michelle Herrick (who has taken many of our photos) because she has been selected to show her work at First Friday. Anyway if you will be downtown Phoenix stop in and check out all of the work from the talented artists. You can read all about it here. The above photos are from one of her recent fashion photo shoots.

Also, Michelle recently captured my kids and I in action. Thank you Michelle I love the photos. Just in time for Mother's Day. I have tried to have my mother's game on lately after returning from a women's conference (imagine a place with thousands upon thousands of woman folk..a little giddy) in Utah and have been thinking so much about the Mom that I really want and need to be. Executing certain mothering tactics is certainly easier said than done sometimes. I really do feel like motherhood is my greatest calling in life and would not trade it for the world.

Speaking of Mothers I got to hang out with mine last night.

Photobucket

We got to have a few moments while the kids were playing to bond over my anti-depressant methods..home decor mags and shrimp tacos of course. I must mention that a very kind reader sent me a couple of Canadian treats (I love my Canadian blogging friends). This same reader also let me know the correct resource for the bathroom hardware in Sabrina Linn's space (I will share soon).

For now I feel all tender in my heart for my Mom as we all gear up to celebrate Mother's Day. More thoughts on that later.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
