I am totally taken with the rebranding for the Claridge Hotel in London. It was done by Construct, a London design studio. To read more about it go here.

The Claridge Hotel has most recently been a buzz because some of their recently renovated rooms were designed by Diane Von Furstenburg. For a quick refresher here is a peak at a couple of the rooms DVF designed:

{color radar}

Photobucket

Photobucket

I really love the above space by Jeffers Design Group...those colors. Kind of reminded me of my home...well not exactly the decor but the fact that I can't seem to keep the back door shut with so many kids in and out. I wonder how many times I say, "Shut the door". Thank goodness for such great weather this week.

Also on my color radar besides the above is a new shade of lipstick I would love to try. According to Heather the below color to try is called heatwave by Nars..it is what the below model is sporting.

A few happy images from the weekend.

Get your ribbon candy now stocked by the box @ Michaels.

Dollar ornaments to decorate Christmas packages @ Walley World.

Thrifted dollar borgello and needlepoint pillows to add a bit of fun to sisters nursery. Liza is having another girl.

Finally got to wear my older Pendelton wool blazer and loving wearing more than one belt at a time.

The boys looked so handsome in their own little blazers. Did you know that many retail establishments give a discount for mothers with multiples if you buy more than one of the same exact item. Made me happy.

I have a sister serving a mission for our church in the great state of Michigan and I just read her email that she sent to the family. I reckon it is getting cold in those parts. If you see her give her a great big warm hug from me..unless you are a male around the age of 18 to 30..she is suppose to focus on being a little nun-ish..hehe. (did I really use the term reckon)

I could not help but share these images today. I mean Christmas magazines are already in full force so why hold back on a Christmas spread that I have been looking at since last year to use as inspiration for this year. Last time I was IKEA I spotted a bunch of lighted paper stars like the ones that hang over the bed in the above and think a few white stars would be pretty to include in this years decor. I also love so many of the elements in this scene like the fur, the fresh garlands and wreaths, the pink, and the awesome wrapping papers and trims. I actually recently pulled the bottom picture from Will's blog because I recognized it as being in the same home so I had to include in the post. To see the home not all decorated for the holidays go here.

Well I was planning on hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim this weekend but my friend was put on the injured list so I just got word that the trip will be put on hold. Now I have high hopes to work on some projects this weekend. It is actually kind of nice to finally have a weekend with nothing on the agenda...therefore I am signing off until next week.

Have a great weekend friends!

modern elements & yellow

Photobucket

First, I am seriously considering the above table to go into our family room until we have a space dedicated for a playroom. It is the same size as a coffee table but with those little benches serves as a place where the kids can work on all of their art projects. I think it is such a stylish little children's table by Jennifer Delonge.

Secondly I think a little yellow goes a long way as proof in the below images. Apparently Lenny Kravitz designed the second outdoor space....yes as in the rocker (I heard women think he is attractive:-) I love the quatrefoil cut outs amongst many other elements.

{my buddy boys}

Photobucket

I kept watching the boys out the window as they played in the backyard. I became more curious about their little adventures when I noticed that they kept going over to one specific place by the fence. Upon closer inspection and to my surprise they had been hard at work collecting potato bugs...poor little guys (as in the bugs). They had rigged up quite the system with a bucket and a radio flyer tricycle.

Yesterday I took the boys to the zoo and became very nervous when I decided to take my three sons into the monkey village. I could not keep them on the right side of the roped off space and there were times that I was sure I was going to loose them to the monkeys. Want to know how the zookeepers kept the monkeys away from us..they sprayed them with water bottles. As I finally got the boys to exit I overheard the zoo workers commenting on how the monkeys were extra active today. I felt like saying, "you're tellin' me". Seriously though yesterday was a great "buddy boy" day.

This space has such a tropical vibe. What really caught my eye though was the full length mirror to the side of the bed. That would be the perfect scenario in my bedroom.

Wow, Nov. 1st already..

Well, if this doesn't get you all excited for Thanksgiving, then I don't know what will (except pumpkin pie). I want that recipe for that turkey garnished with figs...oh and that is a yummy kitchen as well.

My SIL called me last week wondering if she should paint her kitchen a sea foam color. Without a doubt I said to go for it. Now I know why I was so excited to tell Whitney to press forward with that color because as I was cleaning off my desktop I was finding a trend of shades of celedon & purple. Just wait until you see these shades in my guest room...I am very excited to try and pull of the vision in this room. Stay tuned.
