I answered my cell phone the other day and my friend on the other end asked if I were having a good day. I said, "Yes, it is a really great day". Then she accused me of thrifting. She knows me all too well because that is exactly what I was doing. For me a good treasure hunt is theraputic. The best part of the whole scenario was that I had really great company, the sky was blue, it was in the 70's and and the sun was shining down. Angela (queen thrifter) & I ventured to what I call thrift store row in Sun City. It is in the heart of a place where the average age is also in the 70's (don't quote me on that one;-) so you can imagine the prospects of a great quality vintage piece.
Here is a sampling of the loot. Did you know pineapples are the symbol of hospitality? I also think the plates look a little Kelly Wearstler-ish.
I'm surprised I didn't run into you thrifting on my side of town:) I love those plates...Penny Wise, right??? I'm totally kicking myself for not getting them when I saw them a couple weeks back, they're gorgeous!
Jonalyn - I have never thrifted in Glendale but I have heard about a few really great antique shops over there. I think we should check out the thrift store scene there asap:-)
i had so much fun with you - you're hilarious. the photos turned out great. and i love the way your finds look all together! we'll have to go again and maybe i'll have better luck :)
The title Full House pretty much sums up my life. If you've ever played with dice or the game Yahtzee then possibly you've rolled a Full House. As luck would have it in the game of life I rolled out twin girls and triplet boys. What am I doing blogging...I should be in Vegas winning money for diapers. If I really hit the jackpot I'd hire Uncle Joey and Uncle Jesse to move in and help out.
Oh and I like to associate life's happenings with home decor. I like parties & to fit in a craft every once in a while.
