fleur de sel

When I saw that my foodie friend GiGi Momma busted out her fleur de sel to put on top of her brownies I had to copy cat. The brownies were a hit. In fact I left for 2 seconds only to come back and find about 4 out of the 5 kids fighting for their piece after they had pulled chairs over to the counter. Above is what I salvaged from the cute little savages. I'm guessing we should make brownies more often.

This is not a joke....putting either grey salt or fleur de sel salt on a brownie is HUGE. Go here for more ideas (like adding caramel vanilla sauce & ice cream) and the recipes.

I had the most delicious chocolate the other day. A sea salt covered chocolate filled with caramel. I am hooked. Will be trying these brownies soon. YUM!

Mmmm....salty and chocolate. Sounds like a wonderful marriage of flavors. Will be giving that a try!

No kidding - who would have thought of putting salt on something sweet and chocolatey. The first time I heard of fleur del sel was from out French exchange student. I still haven't tried it but think I might have to.

Gigi is a good bud of mine, I stole the recipe too! LOVE, LOVE...they were a huge crowd pleaser at a dinner party I hosted!

Mmm! I haven't made brownies since that dreadful day I made black bean brownies, gag. But I should try again--this time without legumes!

I made chocolate chip cookies today with pink Himalayan sea salt after fellow blogger Tracie raved about hers with coarse sea salt. I'm loving the pink Himalayan salt--great flavor.

Did you have five sets of hands helping you with the brownies? :)

Ooooooh, those sound uh-maz-ing. Since I was a wee lass, I have always eaten my brownies with butter melting on the top. People think it's weird, but I love it. Still, I am deffo going to have to throw a lil fleur de sel on top next time. Sounds deeee-lish.

Yummy! They put salt on my Mother's Day chocolate. It was decadent.
